Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find an answer to your question here, or if you would prefer to talk to someone please call us on 1300 73 53 20

1. How do I open an account with Capital 19?

To open an account please contact one of our advisors on 1300 73 53 20 who will help you through the process. We have a simple application form to complete and we will also need to receive certified copies of identification before we can activate your account.

2. What type of accounts do Capital 19 offer?

We offer three accounts types.

1.      The standard account is called a Reg T Margin. This will enable you to access products that trade on margin and also use our low rate margin loans if you desire.

2.      A Portfolio Margin account is available for accounts over $100,000. This account type operates very much like the Reg T Margin but allows a greater level of leverage for sophisticated investors

3.      Finally the Cash Account will allow you to purchase non margin products but does not give access to our margin loans. Please note, when using a cash account to purchase overseas shares you will incur currency risk on your trading.

3. How do I fund my account?

You can fund your account by sending funds in any one of the following currencies. We can only accept electronic funds transfer at this time

Please ask your advisor for the correct banking details needed.

4. How do I transfer my stock holding into my Capital 19 account?

If it is US stock then we have an online automated process through ACATS. For Australian or any other stock please complete our stock transfer form and we will take care of it for you. We do not charge any fees for this service

5. How do I access my trading account?

You can access your trading account via the client login page of our website

6. How do I manage the currency risk if I buy overseas shares?

This is a good question. When you buy shares overseas, say in the US, you need US dollars. Most Australians will only have Australian dollars. The traditional process is to change your Australian Dollars into US Dollars. But this exposes you to exchange rate risk as you have exchanged your currency. Here at Capital 19 we have a rather unique way of buying US shares that eliminates the currency risk on your principal. Your advisor can explain this simple process to you.

7. Do you charge extra for stop orders or phone orders ?
